My students really seem to enjoy their reading time!  Please remember that there will be a daily reading assignment sent home in your child's reading folder.  That work should be done with a parent or adult nightly and the reading log needs to be signed by the adult.   Thank you so much!

Another strategy the students are familiar with is "5 fingers".  If a reader is struggling first they should ask themselves Does this make sense? Does it look right?  Does it sound right?  If not then:

1. Look at the picture

2. Get your mouth ready

3. Look for chunks you know

4. Look all the way through the word

5. Jump over the word-read on to get more information and reread.
